The Williams lab presented four Texas horned lizard papers at the Texas Conservation Symposium at Southwestern University, Georgetown, Texas on January 11, 2019. Stephen Mirkin (M.S. Biology 2019) presented his thesis research on “Urban predation of Texas horned lizards”, Dusty Rhoads (M.S. Biology 2019) presented his thesis research on “Background color-matching in the Texas horned lizard”, Mary Tucker (B.S. Biology, Auburn 2018) presented her research on “Ectoparasite loads of urban Texas horned lizards”, and Dean Williams presented “Genetic considerations for captive breeding and reintroducing Texas horned lizards”. Steven Mirkin won the award for best graduate student presentation and Mary Tucker won the award for best undergraduate presentation.
