Murphy Fund Grant Recipients for Research Travel

Each year 100% of the biology faculty give to the TCU Annual Fund.  Most faculty designate that their contributions go to the Clifford Murphy Fund in the Department of Biology, named after a popular faculty member who was passionate about undergraduate education and research.  This fund supports undergraduate and graduate student research and these students’ travel to scientific meetings to present their research, including masters’ theses and undergraduate honors theses.  Undergraduate and graduate students receive $500 and $1,000, respectively, to help defray travel expenses and provide an opportunity to experience a scientific meeting.  For many students, it is an important first step toward careers in the field of science.
