It is hard to believe the years have passed since we graduated from TCU!
As the years go by, we continue to be thankful for the many wonderful friendships, experiences and opportunities we shared on campus as students and now as alumni.
Giving a gift presents an opportunity to honor our department and alma mater that has had such a lasting impact on our lives. Take a minute and recall when we first stepped on the TCU campus; think about all the changes that have occurred from the academic and athletic facilities to the increased recognition and academic honors TCU has received. These improvements could not be achieved without gifts from people like you and me.
Every donor’s gift, regardless of the amount, will make a difference, and will help us meet our goal and benefit the school we love.
The new class of Horned Frogs that walked on the campus for the first time in the fall were attracted to TCU because of the top-notch faculty, world-class facilities, enhanced academic programming, personalized student experience, financial aid and scholarships the University offers, and most importantly, our solid reputation. Every year TCU ranks as one of the best schools in the state, the region and the country. One of the measures that keep our ranking high is our alumni giving rate.
In the end, giving a gift demonstrates your satisfaction with the education you received and the value of your degree. It allows TCU to continue the legacy of success for years to come.
Each year 100% of the biology faculty give to the TCU Annual Fund. Most faculty designate that their contributions go to the Clifford Murphy Fund in the Department of Biology, named after a popular faculty member who was passionate about undergraduate education and research. This fund supports undergraduate and graduate student research and these students’ travel to scientific meetings to present their research, including masters’ theses and undergraduate honors theses. Undergraduate and graduate students receive $500 and $1,000, respectively, to help defray travel expenses and provide an opportunity to experience a scientific meeting. For many students, it is an important first step toward careers in the field of science. Click here to see the past Murphy Fund grant recipients.
Please consider making a gift to the Clifford Murphy Fund in the Department of Biology today.
